About Your Educator: Kristen Mollan has a Masters in Public Health and is an American Red Cross (ARC) Certified Instructor.
The best emergency response starts long before an emergency happens. In true birthED fashion, this interactive, hands-on class will help you replace fear with confidence through practical skills, honest conversation, and evidence-informed education in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Using infant and child manikins, you'll practice the safety skills and leave feeling prepared, not just informed.
You'll learn how to:
• Recognize when a child is experiencing a true emergency
Know when and how to call 9-1-1
• Perform high-quality CPR for infants and children
• Respond to choking emergencies in infants and children
• Provide first aid for childhood injuries, including burns, falls, poisoning, and drowning
• Prevent many of the most common childhood accidents through practical safety and injury prevention strategies
The class follows current American Red Cross guidelines while focusing on the real-life situations parents and caregivers are most likely to encounter. It is designed for parents, grandparents, babysitters, nannies, and anyone who cares for young children who wants to feel calm, prepared, and confident in an emergency.
No previous experience is needed. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and practice in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
As a birthED bonus, you'll receive exclusive access to Kristen's Babyproofing & Safety Checklist, a room-by-room guide filled with simple, practical tips to help prevent injuries before they happen.
